So, I'm almost done packing for college... for which I shall be moving into the dorms in less than six days! Wow... time flies when you're packing art supplies. Although, mine has probably flown because not only am I packing and organizing my lair/craft room at my mom's training center, I'm also boxing up all of my stuff from my room at the house and going through it. I want to start this new chapter of my life with a clean stuff-slate... I'm only keeping/bringing/storing the things I actually need and want. At least, that's the plan. I have no idea if I'm going to get it all done before I leave for Abilene, especially considering just how many boxes of craft stuff and books and miscellaneous treasure/junk I still have to sort. In any case, I'd rather get as much as I can done now so I don't have to worry about it for the next four years or so.
And I'm in a crafty mood... I've been painting lots of roses lately, and experimenting with the loveliness that is artfully arranging and gluing bits of paper. (By that, of course, I mean that I've been making way too many ATCs and don't think I'll stop anytime soon!)
I've also been crocheting a lot. I've had an afghan in my school colors in the works for a while now, but lately that's not all I've been working on... I discovered amigurumi patterns and can't seem to stop fiddling around with them! So far, I've made a cute little alien for my mom as a birthday present... and have two minions in the works for my brother... and am now working on my second "little warhawk" (an adorable version of McMurry University's new mascot). There will be pictures sooner or later if I ever find my camera again, but you can see the patterns I found for the first two projects here and here . The little warhawks are a pattern I've designed myself after tinkering around and figuring out how shaping works in the amigurumi technique. Since I have such a lovely stash of yarn built up, I'm quite glad to have found something to do with it other than making scarves, socks, and blankets... someday perhaps I shall be ready to tackle something more complicated, like a sweater.
As for my photography... which I know is my main deviantART presence... I really need to go through the who-knows-how-many-hundred-or-more pictures I have on my computer and start uploading them again. If I could just decide if I wanted to skip over my stuff from last year and just post my most recent things... or if I want to do a mix of old and new... or what... :sigh: I really would appreciate some feedback on that. So, what do you think? New pictures? Old pictures? Both? Someone tell me where to start!
